Add domain user account

  1. A domain user account is automatically added to FilingBox GIGA when a network drive is mounted using the user's Active Directory credentials.
  2. Refer to Microsoft’s official documentation to learn how to map a network drive using File Explorer on Windows 10 or 11.
  3. Entering Paths for Personal folder: When entering the network drive address, use the following format.
    • \\filingbox-home-server-ip-address\ad-use-id (e.g., \\192.168.200.42\alice)
  4. Connect using different credentials: You must check the Connect using different credentials checkbox. The connection will fail if you do not check this box.
  5. Entering Network Credentials: Enter the user's Active Directory credentials, using the username@domain (e.g., alice@your.domain) format for the username, and enter the password.
  6. Once the network drive is successfully mounted, the user account will automatically appear in Domain User Account Management in the Admin Console.

Note

The account will be registered as a domain account only when connecting to the personal folder of the user account in the Active Directory domain.
It will not be registered as a domain account when connecting to a shared folder for which the account's group has been granted access permissions.
