To access (read/write) files stored in the FilingBox MEGA2 v2 Server from a device, you must first register the applications allowed to access the server along with the path information within the server they are allowed to access.
Important
If an unregistered application attempts to access files stored in the FilingBox MEGA2 v2 Server, a "read-only fake file" will be provided instead. This prevents normal access by the program.
Register allowed apps
- To register an allowed app, log in and click the "Add allowed app" button on the "Allowed apps" page.
- To specify the application to register, select the "Select allowed apps" menu.
- Search for the program (executable file) to register.
You can choose from the following methods to search for the program to register:
The list of currently running programs (exe files) on the device will be displayed. You can search by entering the name of the program's executable file in the "Find by name" field.- Input rules: No restrictions.
- Input length: 0 ~ 16 characters.
- Default value: None.
By default, programs not displayed in the list can be searched once they are run on the device.

Selecting the "Direct selection of App file by user" menu launches Windows Explorer, allowing you to directly search for the program's executable file to register.
- Input rules: Specified through Explorer.
- Input length: 4 ~ 128 characters.
- Default value: None.

If a file longer than 128 characters is selected, the following error message is displayed:
When a file with 130 characters is selected:
- Select the executable file of the program to register and click the ‘OK’ button.
- If the registration is successful, the information of the selected file will be displayed as shown below.
- To specify the path information on the FilingBox MEGA2 v2 Server that the registered application can access, click the ‘Access path setting’ button.
- Select the directory within the currently mounted drive that the registered application can access, then click the ‘OK’ button. (All subdirectories under the selected directory will also be accessible.)

If no path is selected and the ‘OK’ button is clicked, the following error message will appear:
- If the path is successfully registered, the information of the selected path will be displayed as shown below.
Important
If the ‘Cancel’ button is clicked after registering the access path but before specifying the allowed app, the registered access path information will be deleted.
- Specify the type of permission the application will have to access the FilingBox MEGA2 v2 Server.
The available permissions are as follows:
- ReadOnly: The application can only ‘read’ files stored on the FilingBox MEGA2 v2 Server.
※ By default, the value is set to ‘ReadOnly’.
- ReadWrite: The application can ‘read/write’ files stored on the FilingBox MEGA2 v2 Server.
- AddOnly: The application can add files to the FilingBox MEGA2 v2 Server.
- ReadWriteRevision: The application can ‘read/write’ files stored on the FilingBox MEGA2 v2 Server and manage revisions.
Select the desired value from the permissions list and click the ‘Next’ button as shown below.
Important
If the ‘Cancel’ button is clicked after registering the allowed app but before specifying the access path, the registered application information will be deleted.
- ReadOnly: The application can only ‘read’ files stored on the FilingBox MEGA2 v2 Server.
- To complete the registration process, you must always enter the client login password for security purposes. As shown below, enter the password in the ‘Password’ field and click the ‘Verify’ button.
Note
Any value must be entered in the ‘Password’ field for the ‘Verify’ button to be activated.
The input rules for the ‘Password’ field are as follows:
- Input rules: No restrictions.
- Input length: 1–20 characters.
- Default input value: None.
If the value entered in the ‘Password’ field is incorrect, the following error message will appear:
- If the entered password is verified as valid, the following page will appear. Click the ‘Okay’ button to move to the allowed app list screen.
Note
If you attempt to register an app that is already registered, the following error message will appear:
View allowed apps
After logging into the client, you can view the applications registered as allowed apps on the FilingBox MEGA2 v2 Server, as shown below.
Delete allowed apps
To delete applications registered as allowed apps on the FilingBox MEGA2 v2 Server, follow the steps below.
- Log in to the client.
- Select the app information you want to delete.
- Select the ‘Remove’ menu displayed at the bottom right of the highlighted area.
- To perform the delete operation for an allowed app, you must always enter a password for security purposes. As shown below, enter the password you used when logging into the client in the ‘Password’ field and click the ‘Verify’ button.
Note
The ‘Verify’ button will be activated only when any value is entered in the ‘Password’ field.
The input rules for the ‘Password’ field are as follows:
- Input rules: No restrictions on input values.
- Input length: 1–20 characters.
- Default input value: None.
If the value entered in the ‘Password’ field is incorrect, the following error message will appear:
- If the password entered in the client is verified as correct, the following page will be displayed. Click the ‘Okay’ button to return to the client’s main screen.
