The Device menu in the admin console allows you to view and modify the list of devices connected to the server, add new devices, or delete existing ones.
View device list
Click the Devices menu on the left to display the list of devices currently registered.
- Device ID
- A unique identifier automatically assigned when the device is registered.
- Device name
- The name entered by the administrator when the device was added.
- Connection status
- Indicates if the device is currently connected to the FilingBox MEGA server.

- Disconnected: The device is not logged into the server.
- Connected (Account): The device is logged in with a specific account.
- Allowed Apps
- The number of programs registered as allowed apps on the device.
- MAC address
- The MAC address entered during device registration.
- IP address
- The IP address entered during device registration.
- Registration Date
- The date the device was registered with the server.
To search for a specific device, enter the device name in the search field and click Search.
- Input length: No restrictions
- Input length: 0 ~ 20 characters
- Default value: None
Partial matches are supported; entering part of the device name will return all devices containing that string.
Add device
To register a new device, click the Add device button at the top left of the Devices page. Fill out the required information and click Save to complete the registration.
- Device Name

A name to identify the device
- Input rules: No restrictions
- Input length:1 ~ 20 characters
- Default value:None
If the rules are violated, the following error message will appear:
Please enter a device name within 20 characters.
- MAC address
-
The MAC address of the device to be used to connect to the FilingBox MEGA server.
- Input rules: Use lowercase letters and separate each byte with a - e.g., 00-11-22-aa-bb-cc.
- Default value: None
If the rules are violated, the following error message will appear:
The MAC address format is invalid.
- IP Address
-
The IP Address of the device to be used to connect to the FilingBox MEGA server.
- Input rules: ‘Enter in the format x.y.z.u e.g., 192.168.200.100. Values 0.0.0.0 and x.y.z.0 are not allowed.
- Input length: 7 ~ 15 characters
- Default value: None
If the rules are violated, the following error message will appear:
The IP address format is invalid.
- Description

- Input rules: No restrictions
- Input length: 1 ~ 100 characters
- Default value: None
If the rules are violated, the following error message will appear:
Please enter a description within 100 characters.
Edit device
To edit a device, click the Device Name on the Device page.
Then click the Update Device Information button at the bottom left to open the edit screen.
Modify the necessary fields and click Save to apply the changes.
Fields available for editing: Device name, MAC address, IP address, and Description
Important
If the device is currently connected to the server, the Update device information button will not be displayed.
Important
Fields like Device ID, Connection Status, Client Version, and Device OS Information cannot be edited as they are system-assigned values.
Delete device
To delete a device, click the Device Name on the Device page. Then click the Delete Device button at the top right.
Important
A device cannot be deleted if its Connection Status is set to Connected.
Important
Since deleting a registered device will also delete all data stored on the server for that device, an extra confirmation step is required.
View allowed apps
View the list of applications allowed to access the FilingBox MEGA server from a specific device.
Click the device name on the Devices page, and then select the Allowed apps tab to view the allowed applications on the device.
Note
Adding or removing allowed apps must be performed by the device manager through the client.
Information Displayed for allowed apps:
- Program name
- Displays the application information entered by the administrator during app registration. The file name and its path are shown.
Important
Only applications listed here can access the FilingBox MEGA server. If an application cannot access the server, verify that it is registered as an allowed app.
- Program hash value
- The hash value of the program is displayed. (It is automatically calculated and displayed internally)
- Access folder
- Displays the folder name entered by the administrator during app registration.
Important
Applications registered as allowed apps can only access the directoriy specified as the access folder icluding its sub directories. If a registered application cannot access the FilingBox MEGA server, ensure that the intended access folder matches the registered access folder.
- Access permissions
- The permissions available to applications registered as allowed apps for accessing files in the specified Access Folder are as follows:
- Read/Write: The application can read and write files.
- Read-Only: The application can only read files.
- Add-Only: The application can only create files. (Modifying, deleting, or reading files is not allowed.)
- Read-Write-Versioning: The application can modify files, and a backup of the original file will be created. The backup file can be used to edit the original file.
Associate device admin (Add)
To log in to a specific device, the account attempting to log in must be associated with that device. Follow the steps below to associate a login account with a device using the admin console:

Navigate to the Devices page and select the device name of the device you want to associate.

Click the Admins tab.

Select the Manage users button.

Click the Add Device Manager prompt. A list of device admin accounts with the name registered on the FilingBox MEGA server will be displayed.
If a specific character is entered into the input field, a list of device manager account names containing that character will be displayed.

From the displayed list of device admins, click the Add button next to the name of the administrator you wish to associate with the device. Then, click outside the list to close it.

Click the Update button to complete the association.
Associate device admin (Remove)
A single device can be associated with multiple accounts. To remove a specific administrator account from the associations, follow the steps below:
Important
An administrator account currently logged into the client on this device cannot be removed.

Navigate to the Devices page and select the device name of the device you want to modify.

Click the Admins tab.

Select the Manage users button.

Hover the mouse pointer over the account name you wish to remove from the list of device managers. (The row will be highlighted.)
Note
The Delete button will not be displayed for accounts currently logged into the client on this device.

Click the Remove button on the right side of the selected account.
- Click the Update button to finalize the changes.
