Accessing files

There is nothing to learn about accessing files in FilingBox. You can access files the same as how you access files on your computer using File Explorer.

Editing files

All files are provided with a read-only attribute when accessing them unless users open or change them in Edit Mode on the File Explorer context menu, which makes FilingBox the secure ransomware-proof storage.

Based on how you want to edit, you can choose one of the following editing options on the File Explorer context menu for Windows.

• Change to Edit Mode
• Open in Edit Mode

Changing files to Edit Mode

1. Log in to the desktop client.
2. Access a mounted folder using File Explorer.
3. Right click a file you want to edit.
4. Click Change to Edit Mode on the File Explorer context menu.
5. The Edit Mode indicator displays in the file icon.
6. Until closing the Edit mode, the file is always editable.

Opening files in Edit Mode

1. Log in to the desktop client.
2. Access a mounted folder using File Explorer.
3. Right click a file you want to edit.
4. The default app or selected app for the file launches and opens the file.
5. The file is editable.
6. Once the app is closed, the file is no longer in Edit Mode automatically.
